Solar

Solar, fitted by roofers

Every solar fixing goes through your roof. We make sure the roof stays as sound as the day it was finished.

Overview

Solar is a roofing job as much as an electrical one. Brackets, fixings and cable entries all pass through the weatherproof layer, and that is where leaks begin. As roofers first, we treat every penetration with the same care as the rest of the roof.

We can fit on-roof panels, which sit on brackets above your existing tiles, or integrated solar tiles that sit within the roof itself. We are approved installers of concrete solar tiles, which give a clean, low-profile finish.

The best time to add solar is when the roof is being replaced. Scaffolding is already up, the roof is open, and the panels or tiles can be built into the new roof from the start.

FAQs

Solar: your questions

Can solar be fitted at the same time as a new roof?
Yes, and it is often the best time. The scaffolding is already up and the panels or tiles can be built into the new roof from the start.
What is the difference between on-roof and in-roof solar?
On-roof panels sit on brackets above your tiles. Integrated, or in-roof, solar sits within the roof in place of some of the tiles, for a lower-profile finish.
Will solar panels cause my roof to leak?
They should not, if the fixings and flashings are done properly. As roofers, that detail is exactly what we focus on.
How do I find out if my roof is suitable?
Get in touch for a free, no-obligation survey. We will look at the roof and talk you through the options.
