Overview

A balcony is an extension of the living room, so it needs to look right as well as keep water out. Refurbishing one is a real test of skill: lots of upstands in a tight space, and often several different materials to waterproof.

We install the Westwood Wecryl PMMA system as part of Westwood's partner support programme. The design options are wide: a choice of colours, toppings and patterns, and even a ceramic tile look or a logo. The toppings also give the surface its non-slip finish.

With a low build height of approximately 5mm, Wecryl is ideal for renovations. It adheres to concrete, mastic asphalt, screed, ceramic tiles, timber, metal and plastics.

We can finish the job with stainless steel and glass balustrades or galvanised railings. The result is a fully waterproof balcony, terrace or walkway with a 20 year warranty.

Balconies & terraces: your questions

Will a new balcony surface raise the floor level?
Barely. Wecryl PMMA has a low build height of approximately 5mm, which is why it suits renovations where door thresholds are tight.
Can you go over my existing tiles?
Often, yes. Wecryl adheres to a wide range of materials, including ceramic tiles, concrete, screed, asphalt, timber and metal. We will check the condition of the existing surface first.
Do you fit balustrades?
Yes. We offer stainless steel and glass balustrade systems, or galvanised railings.
What warranty do I get?
The Westwood Wecryl PMMA system comes with a 20 year warranty.
